Meet Louise Henderson who is an athlete who likes 5k up to 1/2 Marathon.

Age : 43
Work/School/College : University of Limerick and now I am the Financial Controller for Profitsflow.
Married/single/kids : Married to Tadhg and have two amazing children, Sadhbh age nearly 12 & Rory age 9.
How long have you been a member of Menapians AC : Not sure. I moved back to Wexford in 2012 and I think I joined the following year.
Interests & achievements outside athletics : I love swimming and have done some open water swimming races. I Im also a big fan of most types of musics and go to as many concerts as I can, although that is less and less every year.
Events you have competed at : I ve done lots of half marathons, 10miles, 10ks and 5ks. I’ve done quite a few County Road Races over the years and one or two County Cross Country races. I've also competed in some Aquathons, which is a swimming race followed by a run.
Favourite event : I’ve done the Dingle Half Marathon twice and really enjoyed it both times. The scenery and atmosphere are fabulous. Don’t think there is anywhere else quite like it in the country.
Least favourite event : Cork City Marathon. Turns out I’m not a marathon runner!
Biggest athletics achievement : Its either finishing my fist 10k road race or making it to the top of the County Council hills on a Tuesday.

Favourite moment of your athletic career : Finishing my fist half marathon in Dingle in 2013.
Who has been your inspiration both in athletics & outside athletics : Apart from all the lovely people I train with in Menapians and Wexford Triathlon Club (can’t leave them out), Jason Smyth and Catherine Walsh are all very inspirational. Outside of sport, I am a big admirer of Mary Robinson and Fr. Peter McVerry.
Favourite food/drink : Lindt Chocolate, red wine.
Post training snack : Banana on brown bread and milk, sometimes a beetroot and banana smoothie .
Some unusual facts about yourself : I am visually impaired , I was a vegetarian for 10 years but eat meat now & I got fired from a McDonalds in Germany after one day.
