How long have you been a member of Menapians AC : 2006; previously with DMP & Wexford Athletic Club.

Interests & achievements outside athletics : Mostly non pandemic-friendly activities such as watching live sport & going for a pint. Enjoy watching all sports; favourites - hurling matches & horse racing. Also interested in music and history.

Events you have competed at : Most track & field events upto 10k bar steeplechase & pole vault.

Favourite event : 400 metres.

Least favourite event : Javelin

Biggest athletics achievement : Once finished ahead of Kevin Cogley in a race. Never repeated needless to say!

Other athletics achievements : Won county titles at 200m/400m; part of first DMP team to reach the National league final where we competed strongly.

Do you hold any records : Finished runner up in Community Games what seemed a record number of times for my parish Bride Street/Rowe Street. Destined not to get to Mosney!

Favourite moment of your athletic career : National League debut at Waterford RSC. Our four man team (myself, Paul Crowe, John Breen, Derek Rossiter) covered as many events as we could and did better than expected.

Favourite track you have competed on : Tullamore Harriers AC

Least favourite track : Nenagh indoor arena. Horrible track, venue and journey to/from.

Who has been your inspiration both in athletics & outside athletics : Inside Carl Lewis/ Kenenisa Bekele Outside Tiger Woods.

Favourite food/drink : Pizza/ Coca Cola

Post training snack : Banana/ Yogurt

Some unusual facts about yourself : I’m a big Prince fan. He once wrote a song called Purple & Gold about his hometown team, the Minnesota Vikings. It’s not as good as the Wild Swans though!
