Work/School/College : Retired as principal of Galbally NS in November 2018.

Married/single/kids : Very happily divorced!! I have 3 children, Marie ,Colm and Gavin and 4 beautiful grandchildren Caoimhe, Faith, Cuan and Conor who are the lights of my life.

How long have you been a member of Menapians AC : I have been a member of Menapians A/C for over 11 years..one of the best decisions I ever made.

Interests & achievements outside athletics : I love reading especially murder mysteries, travelling, spending time with family and friends and the occasional glass of wine!! Outside of athletics my greatest achievement has to be being, I hope a good mother and grandmother and a good friend .

Events you have competed at : I have competed in 100m and 200m sprints at All Ireland, Leinster and County level in my age category, I ran in the Dublin city marathon in 2012, I've run the Cobh 10 mile a few times plus several other road races. I've also taken part in one or 2 County cross country and road races. My favourite event is the 100m sprint and least favourite has to be cross country.

Biggest athletics achievement : My biggest athletic achievement has to be competing in the Dublin City Marathon in 2012. As everyone in the club will tell you I am still bragging about it 8 years later!! Winning my age category at County, Leinster and All Ireland. Winning a Team Novice County medal with Menapians A/C

Do you hold any records : Absolutely no records held apart from being one of the elder lemons in the club!!

Favourite moment of your athletic career : Running in Dublin Marathon and seeing my daughter Marie and granddaughter Caoimhe holding a sign with"Go the fastest Nannie in the world on it" !!

Who has been your inspiration both in athletics & outside athletics : In athletics my inspiration has been our own Jimmy O Neill, Mick McKeon and Helen Sinnott, all of whom have encouraged me since day 1. Outside of athletics I would have to say was my grandmother. She lived with us until her death and I still miss her 26 years later

Favourite food/drink : My favourite food is anything Thai and I love a nice glass of red wine!!

Post training snack : Post training snack is a banana

Some unusual facts about yourself : I'm a Kerry woman… not sure if that counts as unusual!! Despite being 5 ft nothing I played national league basketball for Mary Immaculate College in the 80's.
