National Junior/U23 Chamionships

At the National Junior/U23 Championships in Santry over the weekend our athletes again did themselves proud across a variety of events.

On Day 1 Eimear Halpin took on the Junior 400m hurdles finish a very good 5th place running a time of 1:09.38 dipping under her previous PB.

The Junior Weight for Distance event saw 3 entries from the club. Rachel Grace threw 3m52cm to finish 6th in her first ever competition, Sarah Louise Carr threw 4m79cm to finish 4th in her first ever competition & Tr9iini Jurisoo threw 4m98cm to claim bronze in 3rd place.

On Day 2 Shane O'Neill had a good 16.36 Junior 110m hurdles finishing 5th while in the same event at U23 Aaron Tierney Smith took silver in 15.54.

In the Junior 3000m SC we had 2 athletes competing. Both ran excellent races with Ciara Dolan finishing 6th place in 13:46.98 and Roisin O Reilly claiming a silver finishing in 2nd place in 11:46.72

Ailbhe White had a great run in her first Juniors with a 7th place finish in her 400m heat clocking 1:04.07.

Eimear Halpin was back for Day 2 and threw in the Junior discus with a best of 28.18m.

Congratulations to each athlete on their performance at over the weekend and a special mention to their coaches for their efforts during these Covid times ensuring everyone was ready for competition.
